Six draft night deals, descending contracts and a CBA-busting set of sign-and-trades were just a bit of what it took to get Karl-Anthony Towns in a Knicks jersey.

The weekend before the preseason began, New York agreed to its second colossal transaction of the summer, sending Julius Randle and Donte DiVincenzo to the Minnesota Timberwolves for Towns, a man the Knicks had kept in the corner of their sightline for years. But the trade hardly ended with those three people.

Julius Randle said goodbye to New York with a simple message Sunday night. “NEW YORK! THANK YOU,” Randle wrote in a post on Instagram, along with a photo of him playing at the Garden, just days after news broke of the blockbuster deal that is sending the forward out of town for star Karl-Anthony Towns.

The last two weeks have been a whirlwind for Karl-Anthony Towns and still are. He made his Madison Square Garden debut as a member of the Knicks on Wednesday and continues to search for a place to live.

Karl-Anthony Towns may not be “flabbergasted” anymore about his trade to the Knicks, but the shock has yet to wear off, either.

The New York Knicks picked up a 117-94 win in their first preseason game at Madison Square Garden against the Washington Wizards, but it wasn't the perfect star
