A Powerball player in Washington won $50,000, just missing the $220 million jackpot, lottery officials say. The ticket matched four winning numbers and the Powerball in the drawing Monday, Jan. 6, Washington’s Lottery said.

The jackpot was last won on Dec. 7 when a New York lottery player won a $256 million Powerball jackpot. Meanwhile, the Mega Millions jackpot is at $62 million with a cash option of $27.7 million, according to the Mega Millions website.

Two Powerball tickets sold in California won $26,487 each, but just missed the $145 million jackpot, lottery officials say. The tickets matched four winning Powerball numbers and the Powerball, in the drawing Saturday, Dec. 28, the California Lottery said.
