Steuart Smith, the longtime touring guitarist for legendary rock band the Eagles, has retired because of health issues.

A classic rock band has replaced its longtime guitarist due to health issues. The Eagles resumed their Las Vegas residency at the Sphere this month with a lineup change, according to Ultimate Classic Rock. Chris Holt, a musician from Dallas, has taken over guitarist Steuart Smith’s spot in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame group.

The beloved rock band played at the Sphere without the band’s longtime guitarist Steuart Smith. The 72-year-old has left the group after recently being diagnosed with Parkinsonism, a general term for a group of neurological disorders that affect movement.

With McDonald on board, however, the Doobies found a new audience in the adult contemporary genre, releasing hit singles and signature songs such as “What a Fool Believes,” “Minute By Minute,” “Echoes of Love,” “Takin' It to the Streets,” “Real Love,” “Little Darling (I Need You)” and more.
