Vanderbilt women's basketball has settled into the No. 6-7 seed range in NCAA tournament projections. The Commodores (19-7, 6-6 SEC) have struggled somewhat against the upper echelon of the SEC, but they have won the games they're supposed to win and are guided by freshman sensation Mikayla Blakes,

The freshman guard set the NCAA freshman single-game scoring record with 55 points against Auburn. It was the ninth most points scored in NCAA history and joined Patricia Hoskins of Mississippi Valley State as the only players to score 53 or more points twice in the same season.
