Minnesota’s first law enforcement agency, the Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office provides law enforcement and public safety services throughout the county.

The Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office provides law enforcement and public service in accordance with our constitutional and statutory mandates. The Sheriff’s Office is committed to leadership in public safety through professionalism and partnership with other agencies.

Bob Fletcher is a lifelong Ramsey County resident, coach, and volunteer. A husband and a father of four, he is currently serving a fifth term as Ramsey County Sheriff. Bob previously served as a Saint Paul Police Commander, Mayor of Vadnais Heights, and a two-term Saint Paul City Councilmember.

The Administration Division coordinates all functions of the Sheriff’s Office and supports operations by providing resources, direction, policy and leadership. This division also provides training, administrative and financial resources, equipment, and community services.

The mission of the Public Information Office is to serve as a liaison with the news media and to facilitate an accurate and consistent flow of public information to the various constituencies of the Sheriff’s Office.

The Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office maintains searchable public records on individuals who may have been received by, currently in, or released from the Ramsey County Adult Detention Center, commonly referred to as the jail. Records are available for the last 90 days, including today’s date.

As a Ramsey County Deputy Sheriff, you’ll perform law enforcement work such as patrol, investigations, and apprehension; security and custody; court security; civil legal process; crime prevention and community outreach; and, other duties as assigned.
