WEBJan 4, 2016 · On my diesel 284, the level plug is a small plug located on the left side of the rear housing if you're looking at the rear of the tractor. The size is about 1/8 NPT size. Hytran B6 or equivalent is what mine takes. To prime your system after refilling, cycle the 3 point lever down and up several times with tractor running.

I replaced the cable and the hour meter does work so I am know trying to guesstimate the real hours. WEBOct 30, 2020 · The 284 was offered originally in gasoline only, but a diesel was added in 1981. The gas motor is a Mazda 71.3 ci (1.2L) M4-71G. Apparently, Mazda also put it in automobiles, so parts are available. The tractor itself was built by Komatsu. Parts for the chassis are scarce to non existant.
