I would even venture to say that even pre-redemption Stark was a better person than Elon Musk, as pre-redemption Stark seemed jingoistic but otherwise brave and ethical within the limits of that huge character flaw.

Liked the inside look at the corporate workings of SU and how it’s being bought out. They have Tony behind the 8 ball here. Stark got caught slipping without the Mysterium armor.

Oct 16, 2024 · Fair enough, though I should mention that in the real world, people are also increasingly concerned with how corporations use their wealth and power to influence and shape the functions of society and government, which affects the course of daily life, and quality thereof, for most people, so Tony the Iron Man and Stark the megacorporation would be a good allegory to explore that as well.

I also appreciate that the writer was one of the relative few Marvel fans at the time of Civil War, terrible as it might have been for Tony's characterization overall, who was on Tony's side despite the story and tie-ins being heavily slanted towards the anti-registration stance, even if Tony "won" in the end.
