My parents were Authoritarian. They were also loving. But they both hurt me unintentionally... It took me a lot of years to come to terms with the fact that I suffered “abuse” in my childhood. Honestly, it felt (and still feels) dramatic to call it that — but my triggers are a tell-tale sign.
